Mr. Fite was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and attended public schools in Jasper, Alabama where he graduated from high school. Following that, he attended Vanderbilt University where he received a B.A. in economics and then attended law school at the University of Alabama where he received a J.D. degree. He also attended Oxford University in Oxford, England for a semester session. Following graduation from law school he clerked for a judge on the Alabama Supreme Court for one year and then began his practice in Anniston, Alabama.

His practice has been primarily in the area of civil litigation involving personal injury, divorce, contract disputes, and has handled numerous business-related litigation as well as business formations for clients. He has written two articles which have been published in the Alabama Lawyer. He was a member of the Alabama Supreme Courts Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure for nine years and served as a Bar Commissioner for the State of Alabama also for approximately nine years.

He is a member of the Alabama Bar and is licensed the practice in both State and Federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. In the area of litigation, he has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants and has tried numerous jury and non-jury civil cases. He has also tried cases in the roughly five county regions surrounding Anniston.

Arthur has served as Chairman of the Anniston YMCA, spent 9 years serving on the Board of Bar Commissioners for the Alabama State Bar, and now serves as a Director on the Board of Regional Medical Center in Anniston and as a Director on the Board of Farmers and Merchants Bank.
